  • 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
  • IN PERSON: First United Methodist Church, 1 Gilligan Rd., East Greenbush, NY

“Introduction to Swarm Trapping” by Bob Muller,  Sun Mountain Apiary. This month we have an in-person meeting!

Whether you are interested in just getting started capturing bees in swarm traps, or have been doing it awhile, this presentation will provide tips to improve your swarm catching skills. With swarm season just weeks away, Bob will show you how to construct, locate, bait, and hive “free bees” from swarms in your area. Multiple options will be presented with sample swarm trap designs and lures available for those attending to examine. Get ready for spring and don’t miss this comprehensive and fun presentation!

About the presenter:

Bob Muller is the owner and operator of Sun Mountain Apiary and honey store in Delanson, NY (Schoharie County). Sun Mountain Apiary is a "NY Grown and Certified"  Honey Producer. Through a NY Agriculture and Markets grant in 2020, he added a 7-day a week self-serve retail store to their operation. Bob is a former teacher who recently retired from his position as National Grid’s Ag Specialist. An experienced beekeeper, he has given multiple presentations to bee clubs and civic organizations on a variety of beekeeping topics.

CAB's monthly meetings are held at 7:00 pm on the second Wednesday of every month (except December).

Each monthly meeting is open to the public. We hope you will become a Member of CAB to stay up-to-date and to support our program of public outreach and education.

We look forward to meeting you!
