Activities

Education: CAB encourages better and responsible bee keeping methods. We compile and distribute useful and worthwhile information to members for their optimum success in the pursuit of beekeeping. Our monthly topical programs are designed to improve locally appropriate methods of beekeeping, highlight useful bee products and encourage pollinator services in New York’s Capital region.

Public outreach: CAB emphasizes the beneficial impact that honeybees and other pollinators have in the pollination of fruits, vegetables, and flowers. CAB members endeavor to reassure the public that keeping honeybees is a highly advantageous activity.

Forum: CAB facilitates cooperation and discussion among members to improve beekeeping skills; to encourage new beekeepers; and, to maintain friendly and helpful relations with other parties that strive to better the welfare of beekeeping interests.

Outreach and Mentoring: CAB members help each other out with practical, do-it-yourself tools and techniques for beekeeping. Come to a meeting with questions, leave with answers and new ideas! Meet members who live nearby, have experience with local conditions and can point you to good solutions for your beekeeping challenges.

Join us! CAB provides an opportunity for those interested in honeybees to gather together for fellowship on a regular basis (monthly, except for December). Members receive an invitation to meetings via email .
